Our squadron would simply not exist without our dedicated committee.

The ATC is a voluntary youth organisation for 'air-minded' young people under sponsorship of the Ministry of Defence (MOD). However, the squadrons are based in the local community and are an integral part of their home town, city or village.
Some ATC activities are sponsored and financed by the MOD, but many are not. Therefore, our Sqns need the support of the local community through the valuable help of our civilian committees so that our cadets can spend their time with the ATC taking advantage of what we have to offer.
The objectives of the ATC are:
To promote and encourage among young people a practical interest in aviation and the RAF.
To provide training which will be useful both in service and civilian life.
To foster the spirit of adventure and to develop the qualities of leadership and good citizenship.
As a youth organisation, the ATC has a responsibility to the community in which the sqn is located. Similarly, each community has a responsibility to help support its local ATC sqn. The civilian committee provides the two-way link between the sqn and the local community. The committee must consist of at least 5 members, but the more the better.
The civilian committee is an extremely important part of each
and every squadron. Without a dedicated committee, our squadrons would simply
not exist. throughout the year there are events held such as:
Quiz nights
Raffles
Treasure hunts
Tom bolas
many more
